Dude 21 Foundation Fundraiser
Chandler Patterson was a 27 year-old Gainesville firefighter who tragically passed away in an accident in 2021. His sudden death was not only a huge blow to his immediate and extended family but also to the entire Gainesville community. His wife Alyssa wrote to us about the connection she and Chandler had to StillFire, including the date nights they had shared at the brewery. She asked if we could brew a beer in her late husband’s memory named “Dude 21,” as Chandler used the term “dude” at the firehouse often, and rode Engine 21. Alyssa was our assistant brewer on brew day, contributing at every step in the process. At the release party for Dude 21 IPA, the community showed up in force and all 7 1/2 kegs of were gone in 3 hours. A portion of every draft beer and 4-pack sold was set aside to go towards a firefighter education fund that was to be set up in Chandler’s name. In 2022 The Dude 21 Foundation was officially established with a mission to support firefighters and to serve the parents, widows, and children of fallen first responders. On Saturday, January 21st, 2023, StillFire Brewing hosted a fundraiser to once again honor Chandler’s legacy with a day of live music, delicious food (and plenty of Dude 21 IPA) to raise funds for this incredible organization.
