Alex Cawood’s Universe Charity Fundraiser

Alexander William Cawood (Alex) was an extraordinary athletic young man who passed away on February 23 2020 at age 20 from pediatric Ewing sarcoma. Alex fought this relentless disease for 18 months through surgeries brutal chemotherapy proton therapy and rehabilitation. The courage and strength of this young man left its mark on Alex’s family and everyone who knew him. Alex Cawood’s Universe the pediatric cancer research fund set up in his honor raises funds directed toward life-saving pediatric cancer research. The Cawood family and their supporters are committed to advancing better treatment for pediatric Ewing sarcoma and precision medicine to ultimately find a cure for this aggressive disease. On Saturday June 24th 2023 StillFire Brewing hosted a fundraiser complete with raffles a silent auction and live music from Bon Jovi cover band Slippery When Wet. Because of the generosity of the StillFire community we were able to donate almost $8,000 to this awesome organization.
